SUMMERTOWN, Tenn. — Emergency crews responded Sunday afternoon to a motor vehicle crash with injuries along Highway 43 North in Summertown.
According to Lawrence County Fire Rescue, units were dispatched at approximately 12:37 p.m. to the crash near Vaughn Staggs Road. Lawrence County EMS and law enforcement agencies also responded to the scene.
Two medical helicopters were requested as part of the emergency response.
Highway 43 was closed for a period of time while emergency personnel worked at the scene and authorities investigated the crash.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
Additional information regarding the number of people injured and the extent of their injuries was not immediately released.
