Lawrenceburg City Council to Consider $2.5 Million Capital Note, Springer Road Paving Bid

LAWRENCEBURG, TN — The Lawrenceburg City Council will meet Thursday, July 23, at 9 a.m. in the Council Meeting Room at the Lawrenceburg Municipal Complex, located at 25 Public Square.

Among the items on the agenda is the second consideration of Ordinance Number 1458, which would repeal and replace several sections of the city’s zoning ordinance. The proposed changes involve portions of the Lawrenceburg Municipal Code governing land use and zoning regulations.

Council members will also consider a resolution authorizing the issuance of a general obligation capital outlay note in an amount not to exceed $2.5 million. The resolution would establish the terms, sale and repayment of the note, along with the use of the proceeds. It also provides for the possible levy of a tax, if necessary, to repay the principal and interest.

Another resolution would authorize the City of Lawrenceburg to accept a bid for paving Phase II of the Springer Road improvement project. The contractor and final bid amount are expected to be determined following the bid opening scheduled for Wednesday, July 22.

Anyone wishing to address an agenda item or another subject under the jurisdiction of the Lawrenceburg City Council must sign in before the meeting begins.
