UT Southern Welcomes Students Back for Busy August on Campus

PULASKI, TN — The University of Tennessee Southern is preparing to welcome new and returning students back to Pulaski, with a full schedule of activities planned throughout August to begin the new academic year.

Activities begin Monday, August 10, with Spark: New Faculty Orientation at the Andrews Science Building, helping welcome new faculty members to the UT Southern campus.

The focus shifts to incoming students later in the week. Another session of New Student Orientation will be held Friday, August 14, at Martin Hall, followed by new student move-in day on Saturday, August 15.

On Monday, August 17, members of the incoming freshman class will take part in Freshman Convocation at Martin Hall, marking one of the traditional milestones beginning their college experience at UT Southern.

The activities continue Tuesday, August 18, with Into the Streets on the Campus Green. Later that day, students will be able to enjoy the Southern Spark Concert and Fireworks, also taking place on the Campus Green.

The month’s events continue Saturday, August 22, with the Firehawk 5K and 1-Mile event at UT Southern’s East Campus.

With students moving back into Pulaski and campus activities getting underway, August will bring plenty of activity to both UT Southern and the surrounding community.
