Four Rescued from Giles County Homes During Predawn Flooding

PULASKI, TN — Four people were rescued from their homes early Wednesday morning after rapidly rising water along Big Dry Creek Road left them trapped inside.

Giles County Fire & Rescue’s Swift Water Rescue Team was dispatched to the area at approximately 2:30 a.m. as floodwaters continued to rise and made it unsafe for residents to leave their homes without assistance.

Crews worked through the predawn hours to safely remove all four residents from the affected properties. The Giles County Sheriff’s Office and Lawrence County Fire & Rescue assisted with the emergency response.

Once brought to safety, the residents were evaluated at the scene by Giles County EMS. No major injuries were reported.

The incident highlights the dangers associated with overnight flooding, when rising water can be difficult to see and conditions can change quickly. Emergency officials continue to urge residents to avoid flooded roads and never attempt to walk or drive through moving water.
