LAWRENCEBURG, TN — Visitors will have an opportunity to step back more than two centuries in time when Davy Crockett Days returns to Lawrenceburg August 21–23 at David Crockett State Park.
Presented by the David Crockett Long Hunters and David Crockett State Park, the three-day living history event will highlight Tennessee’s frontier heritage while also commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States.
Davy Crockett Days will recreate aspects of life in Lawrenceburg and the surrounding frontier during the late 1700s and early 1800s. Organizers say the family-friendly weekend will feature frontier camps, pioneer demonstrations, traditional crafts, blacksmithing, tomahawk throwing, Native American culture and other hands-on activities.
Friday will also serve as a special School Day, with school field trip groups and homeschool students invited to participate in hands-on learning stations and interactive demonstrations designed to bring frontier history to life.
The event will be open to the general public Friday and Saturday and will continue through noon Sunday.
The celebration takes place at David Crockett State Park, located at 1400 West Gaines Street in Lawrenceburg.
