LAWRENCEBURG, TN — Tourism continues to make a significant economic impact in Lawrence County, with visitors generating more than $33.5 million in local spending during 2025.
According to tourism economic impact data, visitors spent $33,576,502 in Lawrence County last year, bringing money earned outside the community into local businesses, restaurants, lodging establishments, attractions and other parts of the local economy.
That visitor spending also generated approximately $3.46 million in state and local tax revenue.
Officials say those tourism-generated tax dollars helped reduce the tax burden on local residents, saving the average Lawrence County household an estimated $204 in taxes during the year.
The economic impact of tourism in Lawrence County has also shown substantial long-term growth. Since 2018, visitor spending in the county has increased 38.7%, compared with national growth of approximately 22% during the same period.
The latest figures highlight tourism’s growing role as an economic development tool for Lawrence County, supporting local businesses while generating additional tax revenue for the community.
