PULASKI, TN — A 20-year-old Pulaski man has been arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse following an investigation involving an 8-month-old child who suffered severe injuries, according to the Pulaski Police Department.
Police said the department’s Criminal Investigation Division received information from the Columbia Police Department on Wednesday, August 26, regarding a possible case of child abuse that allegedly occurred in Pulaski.
Lt. Jordan Ramsey and Detective Sgt. Lake Foster began investigating and learned that the 8-month-old child had suffered severe injuries and was being transported to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville for treatment.
According to Pulaski Police, investigators gathered enough evidence during the investigation to obtain warrants for 20-year-old Jaydon Alejandro Rosales of Pulaski.
Rosales was arrested by the Columbia Police Department and transported to the Giles County Jail.
He has been charged with aggravated child abuse and four counts of reckless endangerment.
Police said Rosales is currently being held in the Giles County Jail without bond.
“The Pulaski Police Department is committed to keeping the citizens of Pulaski safe from crimes like this, especially our children,” the department said in announcing the arrest.
Pulaski Police also thanked the Columbia Police Department for its assistance with the investigation.
The charges against Rosales are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
