Flock Plate Reader Alert Leads to Arrest of Man Wanted in Hardin County

PARSONS, TN — A Flock Safety license plate reader alert helped Decatur County deputies locate a man wanted in Hardin County on two warrants alleging aggravated rape of a child, authorities said.

According to the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, Decatur County E-911 notified deputies Aug. 10 after the system detected an associated vehicle entering the county.

Deputies developed probable cause for a traffic stop and identified the driver as Jayson Bills. A National Crime Information Center check confirmed that Bills was wanted by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office on two active warrants charging aggravated rape of a child.

Bills was arrested without incident and booked into the Decatur County Detention Center. He was later transferred to Hardin County authorities.

The charges are allegations. Bills is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
