LAWRENCEBURG, TN – Darryl Watson, a local businessman and lifelong resident of Lawrenceburg, is proud to announce his candidacy for Seat 4 of the Lawrenceburg City Council. “Lawrenceburg is my hometown. I was born here; I grew up here. I’ve raised my family, grown multiple businesses, and have served on various boards and committees to make my hometown the best it can be.” Watson stated. “I wish to serve on the City Council because my experience in business and my passion for our community is exactly what Lawrenceburg needs.”
Watson believes his customer service-centered approach to business will aid in modernizing city government and improving the image of the city. “When Shannon and I purchased Crockett Cinemas, we spent many hours making strategic investments in the experience for movie-goers—our goal was to make our product just as good as those theaters in larger cities. As a member of the City Council I would encourage and support a similar approach that keeps our citizens comfortably thriving within Lawrenceburg,” explained Watson. “When I look at our city government, I see the need to do the same—making key investments in all Lawrenceburg City Departments to ensure continued topnotch entities.”
Darryl, a 1986 graduate of Lawrence County High School, married Shannon Hurst Watson in 1991. Shannon recently retired as an Educator of Lawrence County Schools after 30 years of service. They have raised three daughters, Courtney and Annsley Watson of Nashville and Meg (Drake) Newton of Lawrenceburg, and they enjoy spending time with their granddaughter, Evie. He is a Christian and is a member of Faith Church in Lawrenceburg. Darryl spent his early career in car sales and purchased his first car rental business in 1999, U-Save Car & Truck Rental, before he began investing in real estate. As a conservative businessman, he quickly found success and expanded his business portfolio to include Darryl Watson Construction and recently developed his first subdivision, Willow Grove, located in Leoma. The Darryl Watson Construction Team also installed the SafeHaven Baby Box at the Lawrenceburg Fire Department.
“I have one beautiful grandchild and hopefully more someday. I’m running because I feel a great responsibility to build a city that affords my children, my grandchildren, and their children the same opportunity I found right here in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee,” Watson noted.
Watson humbly asks for your vote on November 5th and encourages voters to vote early.
