SUMMERTOWN, TN – A truck hauling an oversized load struck a utility line on a Summertown roadway Monday afternoon. The vehicle was said to have snagged the line which resulted in the utility pole being pulled down. The incident, first reported around 3:30 p.m., shutdown Turnpike Road near the Locker Road intersection. The well traveled roadway was closed for sometime while crews cleared the incident. A similar matter occurred Saturday that blacked out Internet service for several hours for a portion of Lawrenceburg. A piece of farm equipment allegedly struck a utility line east of Bobby Brewer Park just after 1 p.m. which resulted a fiber line belonging to Cloud 9 Internet being ripped in half. Crews with the local Internet service provider worked for around nine hours to fix the damage.
