MURFREESBORO, TN – The Tennessee Valley Weather Team was honored Wednesday with the Media Award from the Emergency Management Association of Tennessee (EMAT) during the organization’s annual conference in Murfreesboro. The award was presented in recognition of “Outstanding Service and Dedication to Supporting the Emergency Management Community of the State of Tennessee.”

The EMAT Media Award is given to individuals or organizations that demonstrate exceptional commitment to informing the public and supporting emergency management initiatives through broadcast, digital, or print media. The honor highlights those who go above and beyond in strengthening communication and collaboration between the media and emergency services throughout the state.

“Tennessee Valley Weather has maintained strong relationships with county emergency management partners in our coverage area since launching in 2020. We value the work that EMAs do for their communities and will always work to support them the best we can,” said Ben Luna, Tennessee Valley Weather owner and managing meteorologist. “We are grateful and humbled by this honor,” Luna continued.

The Emergency Management Association of Tennessee is a professional organization that supports emergency management professionals across all 95 counties of the state.
