LAWRENCEBURG, TN – Another local retailer is calling it quits because of corporate decisions. Local store officials confirmed Sunday that Bargain Hunt on North Locust Avenue will permanently close in March. The closure is part of a corporate-wide cease of operations, similar to the recent announcement that all Big Lots stores would close in 2025. The Lawrenceburg Big Lots was originally spared closure however the store’s parent company opted to close all remaining locations this year. A new local restaurant has met similar fate. Highway 55’s new location in front of Crockett Cinemas recently closed up shop due to it’s parent company filing for bankruptcy in January. The Bargain Hunt announcement comes on the heels of an already tough week for the local economy as Modine Manufacturing revealed plans to cut over 160 positions in April at it’s longtime Lawrenceburg plant.
