Christmas Day Fires Damage Two Properties

LAWRENCEBURG, TN – Lawrenceburg and Lawrence County emergency crews spent Christmas Day responding to several calls for help.  Lawrenceburg Firefighters were summoned to an Oakwood Drive property just after 7 Wednesday morning on a report of an outbuilding on fire.  Crews worked at the scene containing the fire for over an hour.  Around 11 am, Lawrence County Fire & Rescue Volunteers from New Prospect and surrounding stations were called to a large field fire on Rosier Road, just off Fall River Road.  The blazed consumed two outbuildings on the property, however firefighters were able to stop the spread of the fire before it reached the residence.  Lawrenceburg Fire’s water supply unit was called to support crews at the scene.  Volunteer firefighters were called to action just before noon Christmas Day, this time to check conditions at a Lawrence County home where a carbon monoxide detector was sounding.  Lawrence County EMS, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, and the Lawrenceburg Police Department assisted at each fire scene.  The cause of each fire remains under investigation.
