PULASKI, TN — A Pulaski man has been charged with first-degree murder following a fatal shooting on Culpepper Street, according to the Pulaski Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Culpepper Street on Saturday, July 25, after receiving a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Giles County EMS personnel began lifesaving measures but were unable to revive him.
The victim, identified by police as 37-year-old Jeremy D’Juan Gardner of Pulaski, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Pulaski Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division was called to process the scene and investigate the shooting.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested 40-year-old Cory Dwain Perry of Pulaski. Perry has been charged with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and committing an armed dangerous felony.
Perry was booked into the Giles County Jail, where police said he is being held without bond.
Detective Sergeant Keith Crabtree is leading the investigation. Pulaski Police said additional charges and arrests may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
The Pulaski Police Department thanked the Giles County Sheriff’s Department and Giles County EMS for assisting with the case.
The charges against Perry are allegations. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
