LAWRENCEBURG, TN —Lawrence County EMS has selected Paramedic Michael Wright to serve as the department’s new D-Shift Supervisor as the agency prepares to transition to a 24/72 work schedule.
Wright was selected following a formal application and interview process that included several qualified candidates. LCEMS officials said his experience, qualifications and demonstrated leadership within the department helped prepare him for the new role.
Wright currently serves as the C-Shift Field Training Officer, where he helps train students and new employees and assumes supervisory responsibilities when the shift supervisor is unavailable.
Now in his 11th year in emergency medical services, Wright has been a member of Lawrence County EMS since June 2018. He is a licensed paramedic and has earned numerous advanced certifications in medical, pediatric and trauma care.
Wright has also completed the Tennessee EMS Leadership Course, presented through the Tennessee State Office of EMS and the Tennessee EMS Education Association.
In addition to his work with LCEMS, Wright serves as a Death Investigator with the Lawrence County Medical Examiner’s Office. He has also completed Saint Louis University’s Medicolegal Death Investigator Training Course.
Lawrence County EMS congratulated Wright on his promotion and said officials look forward to his leadership as the department moves forward with its new D-Shift and 24/72 scheduling structure.
